Don’t tread on the gentians

Today we decided to do the Sentiers de Lacs ( or at least some of it). We caught the funicular up, fortunately Chris L had checked timing so we knew it was hourly. Once again the early birds in the group got the sandwiches at the first bakery. The second bakery supplied the others.

The walk at first was both beautiful and very easy but when we got to some steepish uphill one or two struggled. We stopped for a morning break but had difficulty in not walking on the gentians. We had realised That some might struggle and decided that there was a path back from the second lake so just three of us set off to do the full circuit. This was wonderful despite our missing the path at one point and taking a significant detour!

The weather was superb and both groups enjoyed the amazing flowers including both gentians and trumpet gentians. The scenery was breathtaking.
