In August 2021 we were lucky enough to go with St Hilda Adventure Holidays on a cruise to Mull and the small isles. Our cruise ship, Seahorse II, had 3 crew (Skipper Alan, Bosun James, Chef Ruthie) and 10 passengers. We set sail from a marina just north of Oban, in the pouring rain, after a brief tour of the ship and trying on our life jackets. We had missed lunch as the pub at the marina, Wide Mouthed Frog, was closed. However, not too long after departure, tea and scones (with cream and jam) were served in the saloon. From then on Ruthie kept us extremely well fed.
The weather gradually improved as we approached our first mooring at Tobermory harbour and, by the time we landed in the dinghy, the rain stopped altogether. We only took a short walk round the town as by that time most places, including the distillery, were closed.
