We had hoped to do a high ridge walk further inland on our last day but the cloud was well down in the morning so we decided on a recommended walk to Leirdalen waterfall in the same area. Despite the clouds, this was a good walk mostly along the shores of a lake, Langdalsvatnet, though the midges around the tricky boulder-field were not welcome.
As the clouds were lifting we took the option of going back over a mountain, Langsdalryggen. As we reached the ridge, after some steep climbing up grass ramps, the sky began to clear. We were treated to some glorious views of fjords going out to sea as well as some lovely reflections in the very many tarns. We also had the good fortune to see a herd of reindeer, including one albino calf, passing below us. The descent back to the car was lovely.
