Muck

We left Tobermory straight after breakfast and headed for Muck. The sky was now blue and the sea calm – it was to stay that way for the rest of the cruise! We enjoyed passing Ardnamurchan lighthouse and remembering our trip from 2016. We also had good views of various seabirds as well as porpoises and dolphins. We moored in Muck harbour and landed in the dinghy. After looking at the map on the notice board, we decided to do a round walk crossing the island on the road and returning on a footpath. The views of Eigg and Rum were superb. After admiring the cows and horses on the beach on the far side of the island, we found the returning path and set off. The path was not always clear but we did have a superb sighting of white-tailed sea eagles. This delayed us somewhat and, having lost the path by this stage, we tried to take short cut back to the harbour as we did not wish to keep the others waiting. This proved a little tricky as we did come across one wall which we could not go round as it ended at a cliff, and had to negotiate several fences. We did, however, just manage to make it back in time.
