Sunnega

The forecast for the Wednesday was initially bad but by that day, our last in Zermatt, it had improved. Some of us decided to use the metro (underground funicular) to go to Sunegga and do a walk via lakes. David and Camilla walked up the Marmot trail and met the others at Stillsee. Plenty of marmot squeaks but no sightings. At some points we were in thick mist but by lunch time it was lifting with exciting views. We had a sunny lunch and continued our walk. After passing above the turquoise lake, Moojnsee, we saw a path to the right that on the map looked like a good route to Sunnega even though not signed. This was indeed a good route apart from a stretch of steep stony descent! The free shuttle ( a self service funicular lift) took us back to the metro. Back to the hotel, via a beer, and our last five course dinner.
