Murano
We took the vaporetto up to the Rialto Bridge and walked to Fondamente Nove to catch the vaporetto across to Murano where we enjoyed walking along the canals and visiting the glass museum. We were tempted by some lovely glasses but resisted. We had close encounters with an egret and did not resist temptation by Aperol Spritz.

Returning to the main island, we visited the impressive marble Chiesa di Santa Maria dei Miracoli and sought out the sundial on San Giacomo di Rialto.

Giudecca
We decided to go across to Giudecca for our evening meal and a walk. Storm clouds were gathering resulting in lovely lighting in the views across to the grand buildings around St Mark’s Square. Having initially sat outside at our restaurant we were forced inside by a thunderstorm that was to go on noisily for much of the night.
