Day 6

Today was the transfer day between countries. After a drive to the Armenia-Georgia border, we said goodbye to our Armenian guide and driver and crossed the border on foot, which was a bit eerie at first but turned out to be straightforward. We met our Georgian guide and driver and headed to Tbilisi for lunch and a tour of the old city. Tbilisi has a rich history, having been fought over many times since its foundation in the fifth century, by King Vakhtang Gorgasali of Iberia which is now the eastern part of Georgia. We took the cable car to the old fort overlooking the city and and walked back down. In the evening we all went out to a craft beer pub, near Freedom Square, and then to a restaurant.
