Bohinj and Bled

Today the plan was to go first to Lake Bohinj and walk up the Mostnica Gorge and Voje valley. The rock is limestone so the gorge was narrow, deep and with many pot shaped holes formed by the water. Because of the recent rain it was quite a torrent and the waterfall at the end was spectacular. We were interested to see wild cyclamen by the path as well as Autumn crocus. After the walk we stopped briefly at the bridge at the end of Lake Bohinj for photos and then drove to Lake Bled. Here the group divided. Some opted for coffee and cake while the rest ascended a small but steep hill to get an overview of the lake. This was quite an exciting walk as the path was a bit rough and slippery, particularly towards the top. The view at the top was worth the effort! Some of us couldn't resist an icecream before the drive back to the hotel.
