Flobjørn

David had spotted, on the map, a mountain at the head of the fjord that looked to have a way up along the ridge and good views from the top. Camilla found a Norwegian guide book that showed pictures and gave details that, as far as we could tell, confirmed this. We were further encouraged to ascend Flobjorn by a conversation with the morning receptionist, Domenica, who spends most of her free time in the mountains.

The weather was clear so up we went. The walk followed a well marked footpath steadily up a ridge and the views from the top were spectacular.

After we came down we attempted a beach walk under Flobjorn that we had been told about. Unfortunately we lost the path and got wet feet in some marshland looking for it. We did not complete the walk but had a view of a snipe, some ducks, probably mergansers, a flock of five herons and some small waders.
