During the night we had sailed to the North side of Santa Cruz. The boat was surrounded by pelicans, blue-footed boobies and brown noddys. We could also see the occasional shark. After breakfast we went for a boat ride into a mangrove bay. Here we saw more blue-footed boobies, various herons, pelicans and a whimbrel. We were lucky enough to see a Hawksbill turtle as well as the much more common green turtles. This bay was a nursery area for sharks but we only saw one baby.
